Between life and death in Gaza
by Salah Akram
INTRODUCTION
"This is not just a book; it is a screaming recorded on paper. I am Salah, a young man who once dreamed of building a future, only to find myself living through a genocide written by bombs—the absolute and terrifying algorithm of destruction. This memoir is a testament to the fact that wars do not just destroy buildings; they shatter the silent architecture of the soul.
My story begins in Rafah, a city that was once home to simple dreams of university elevators, football matches, and late-night programming sessions, mmm only to become the epicenter of a historical tragedy.
It is the story of October 26th, and also the story of June 29th, when I lost my uncle, and the story of losing my home at the beginning, the day I became a survivor by chance.
I write this not only as someone who lost his home, his uncle Saeed, and his closest friends —Mohammed, Abdullah, Ahmed, and Ibrahim— but as a witness bearing the weight of a shared wound.
I write for the millions of displaced people, for the starving children, and for the families who watched their world vanish into smoke and dust.
This is a memory of shared suffering, a record of how a vibrant community was swallowed up by piles of tents and fear.
It is a promise to the departed: their dreams, even shattered, will not be forgotten.
Here, between these pages, the voices of the martyrs and the pain of the displaced will resonate".

Story of Steadfastness: Between Life and Death in Gaza
by Salah Akram
Book 119 pages. First edition, 2026.
I am Salah, a Palestinian from Gaza.
I am 24 years old.
I wrote this book from the heart of suffering, from the heart of genocide.
I lost my home, my uncle, and my friends.
We are suffering a lot.
The situation here is disastrous.
The killing has not stopped.
"To the memory of my beloved uncle Saeed, my friends Mohammed, Abdullah, Ahmed, and Ibrahim, whose futures were stolen by a missile from a criminal occupation. I also dedicate this book to my family, and to the Palestinian people of Gaza, the pillars of resilience, who shared every tremor of fear and every moment of hunger, and who abandoned their homes to survive. And to the children of Gaza, who paid the ultimate price for an existence they never chose. This is for the martyrs and the memory we carry".
